Socket error 10060

The problem

When you receive a socket error 10060, this means the connection to the mailserver timed out while trying to send a message. This is a common problem when using the PriorWeb SMTP server. Many Internet providers block connections to external SMTP servers to prevent the distribution of viruses and spam.

The solution

Use the SMTP server your Internet provider hosts, eg.:
- relay.skynet.be
- smtp.scarlet.be
- uit.telenet.be

If you wish to use the PriorWeb SMTP server, and your provider blocks port 25, you can try using it on port 587 instead.
